CWS-CARES 2.2.3 Production Release (CANS Client Search)| Hotfix 09:00 AM - 12:00 PM


To all CWS and Probation SPOCs and Technical Contacts:

EFFECTIVE MARCH 16, 2019 CWS-CARES 2.2.3 PRODUCTION RELEASE IS SCHEDULED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION. 
 
The CWS-CARES team has scheduled release activity that will interrupt connectivity to the CWS-CARES application. The release activity will begin at 09:00AM on Saturday, March 16, 2019 and conclude at 12:00PM. During this scheduled outage users will not be able to access the CWS-CARES application.

CWS-CARES 2.2.3 Hotfixes:

CANS Client Search Fix
•    Improve the performance time of client search queries.

CWS-CARES Scheduled Maintenance| March 17, 2019 07:30 PM - 09:30 PM

To all CWS-CARES Users:

The CWS-CARES team has scheduled maintenance to CWS-CARES application. The maintenance is scheduled for March 17, 2019 from 7:30 PM to 09:30 PM. During this scheduled maintenance the CWS-CARES team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CWS-CARES users. There will be no access to the CWS-CARES application during the maintenance window.

If users experience any issues with CWS-CARES, please follow your county process for reporting issues or you may contact the CWDS Service Desk at 1-855-292-3444.
 

CWS-CARES Scheduled Maintenance| March 15, 2019 6:00 PM- March 18, 2019 8:00 AM

To all CWS-CARES Users:

CDSS will be performing updates on FAS servers that will impact CARES Facility Search & Profile. The work is expected to begin at 06:00 pm on Friday, March 15, 2019 and conclude at 08:00 am on Monday, March 18, 2019. During this time, users will not have access to the Facility Search & Profile tool, but can use other CWS-CARES features (e.g., CANS).

CWS-CARES Scheduled Maintenance in Staging Environment | March 14, 2019 03:00 PM - March 15, 2019 08:00 AM

To: All CWS-CARES Users

CDSS is performing updates to the Staging Environment starting at 3:00 pm March 14, 2019. Facility Search & Profile will be impacted by this change and will be unavailable. Services will be restored during the evening of the 14th and Facility Search & Profile should be online in Staging by 8:00 am March 15th.

CWS-CARES 2.2.2 Production Release (Identify Management & Facility Search) Hotfixes 09:00 AM – 12:00 PM

To: All CWS and Probation SPOCs and Technical Contacts:

EFFECTIVE MARCH 09, 2019 CWS-CARES 2.2.2 PRODUCTION RELEASE IS SCHEDULED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION.

The CWS-CARES team has scheduled release activity that will interrupt connectivity to the CWS-CARES application. The release activity will begin at 09:00 AM on Saturday, March 09, 2019 and conclude at 12:00 PM. During this scheduled outage users will not be able to access the CWS-CARES application.

CWS-CARES 2.2.2 Hotfixes:

County e-mail systems may experience outages or be unavailable for periods of time. When this happens, anyone who hasn't logged into CWS-CARES in the last 24 hours will not receive the Multi-Factor Authentication code and consequently cannot log in to CWS-CARES.

Identity Management Fix (COG-1247)

  • The Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) code expiration is extended from 24 hours to 168 hours (7 days). After 7 days, when the user logs into CWS-CARES, a new MFA code will automatically be issued via email.
  • The email sent with the MFA code contains a message stating the code is good for up to 7 days.

Facility Search Fix

  • Improve Assigned Worker Mapping between CWS-CARES/License Information System (LIS)/Field Automation System (FAS)
  • Ensure that Licensing Worker/Approval Worker will be displayed in CARES accurately based on workers code found in LIS/FAS

CWS-CARES USERS RECEIVING INTERMITTENT RESPONSES WHEN PERFORMING A QUERY IN FACILITY SEARC

To all CWS and Probation SPOCs and Technical Contacts:

The purpose of this communication is to inform counties that some users may have experienced receiving intermittent responses while querying in Facility Search.

The primary issue had to do with a problem with LIS connectivity which has now been resolved. Users should now be able to query and receive results as expected.

CDT Service Desk Bulletin – Network Switch Maintenance| March 3, 2019

To the CWS SPOCs and Technical Contacts in Glenn, Imperial, Los Angeles, Lake, Sacramento, San Benito, Shasta, Trinity, Tulare, and Yolo Counties:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled network switch maintenance on Sunday, March 3, 2019, beginning at 4:00 AM and concluding at 7:00 AM. Users at sites in the listed counties may experience multiple thirty-minute interruptions in connectivity to CWS/CMS and CWS-CARES within the scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) window.

Remote access (e.g., Server Based Computing [SBC]) to the CWS/CMS application will not be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.

CDT Service Desk Bulletin – CGEN Vendor Verizon Scheduled Maintenance| March 5, 2019

To All County CWS SPOCs and Technical Contacts:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, beginning at 12:00 AM and concluding at 06:00 AM. Because the maintenance is being performed on a back-up path, CWS/CMS and CWS-CARES users are not expected to be impacted by this scheduled maintenance. This bulletin is being shared as an ‘FYI only’ in the unlikely case an issue does arise.

Remote access (e.g., Server Based Computing [SBC]) to the CWS/CMS application will not be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.

Maintenance will be performed on a back-up path for the following customers and should not result in an interruption in connectivity, 

  • California Department of Social Services / Office of Systems Integration - Child Welfare Services / Case Management System

FYI only. No action for CWS/CMS or CWS-CARES is expected.
