CARES-Live 2.8.19 Production Release – June 23, 2022| 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

EFFECTIVE JUNE 23, 2022, CARES-Live 2.8.19 RELEASE IS SCHEDULED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION.
The CARES-Live team has scheduled release activity that will interrupt connectivity to the CARES-Live application. The release activity will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, June 23, 2022, and conclude at 9:00 PM. During this scheduled outage, users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application.
CARES-Live 2.8.19:
CARES-Live
  • CARES-Live will implement the OSI mandated 15-character password requirement. Users will be required to create a 15-character password upon their first password expiration after go-live.
CANS
  • The CANS dashboard will be updated to enable the CANS display of the supervisor dashboard to occur more quickly.

The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Friday, June 24, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This scheduled maintenance will be transparent to users. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live Training Environment during the scheduled outage.

The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live application. The maintenance is scheduled for Monday, June 20, 2022, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM. During this scheduled maintenance the CARES-Live team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CARES-Live users. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application during the scheduled outage.

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin - CGEN Vendor Verizon Scheduled Maintenance – June 11, 2022| 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM


All SPOCs and Technical Contacts in Mariposa County:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Saturday, June 11, 2022, beginning at 12:00 Midnight and concluding at 6:00 AM. Users at the listed site will experience up to a sixty-minute interruption in connectivity to CWS/CMS and CARES-Live within the scheduled Verizon maintenance window.
Remote access (e.g., Server Based Computing [SBC]) to the CWS/CMS application will not be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.

CARES Release 0.5 Production Release – June 15, 2022| 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM

EFFECTIVE JUNE 15, 2022, CARES RELEASE 0.5 PRODUCTION RELEASE IS PLANNED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION
The CARES team has scheduled release activity that will interrupt connectivity to the CARES Resource Family Approval (RFA) Application Submission, Review, and Approval Process for pilot counties Contra Costa, Fresno, Placer, Riverside, and Santa Clara. The release activity is planned to begin at 5:00 PM on June 15, 2022, and conclude at 11:00 PM. During this scheduled outage, users in pilot counties will not be able to access the CARES RFA application.
CARES Release 0.5:
The purpose of this release is to improve the performance of the CARES RFA process with the addition of four (4) RFA Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Measurement dashboard enhancements and functional enhancements to RFA features.
CWDS is excited to share the new RFA features that are planned to be available on June 16, 2022, to the CARES-RFA Pilot County users. These new features are derived from user feedback as well as project planned enhancements.  
 
As a resource to pilot counties, we are sharing the attached CARES Release 0.5 Introduction document. In addition, over the next few weeks, your organization can expect to receive information regarding a Webinar along with an updated Participant and Quick Reference Guide. These resources will provide the system users with details of the features/functionality that have been added since the last production release. 
RFA Application Process:
The RFA Application process is the Receipt, Record, Submission, and Assignment of an Application. The RFA Application process was selected as the first software build for CARES. CARES will ultimately replace the legacy Child Welfare System CWS/CMS. The RFA Application Process will operate in a totally new Production Environment without integrating with other legacy systems such as the CWS/CMS and CARES-Live applications.
RFA Application Process Features:
  • Allows an applicant or County staff member to initiate an emergency or standard application to become a resource family home
  • Creates a facility profile that tracks required information to complete this process, including background check results, completion of orientation and training hours, physical home assessment, and family evaluation
  • Aggregates information into a report to recommend approval or disapproval of a resource family application

CARES-Live Training Environment Scheduled Maintenance – June 3, 2022| 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

All SPOCs and Training Contacts:
The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This scheduled maintenance is to upgrade the Training Environment to the CARES-Live AWS AMI2 OS / Kubernetes version. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live Training Environment during the scheduled outage. The impact from this release is limited to back-end system support. The changes will be transparent to CARES-Live users.

All Pilot County RFA Implementation Coordinators and SPOCs:
The CWS-CARES team has scheduled maintenance activity for the CWS-CARES production environment for Friday, May 20, 2022, beginning at 5:00 PM and concluding at 8:00 PM. During the maintenance window, the CWS-CARES Resource Family Approval (RFA) Application Submission, Review, and Approval Process will remain accessible for pilot counties Contra Costa, Fresno, Placer, Riverside, and Santa Clara.

However, Document Upload and Retrieval functionality will not be available for CWS-CARES users during this maintenance window.

CWS-CARES V0.4 Production Release – May 18, 2022 5:00 PM – May 19, 2022 5:00 AM

EFFECTIVE MAY 18, 2022, CARES RELEASE V0.4 PRODUCTION RELEASE IS PLANNED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION
The CWS-CARES team has scheduled release activity that will interrupt connectivity to the CWS-CARES Resource Family Approval (RFA) Application Submission, Review, and Approval Process for pilot counties Contra Costa, Fresno, Placer, Riverside, and Santa Clara.  The release activity is planned to begin at 5:00 PM on May 18, 2022, and conclude at 5:00 AM on May 19, 2022.  During this scheduled outage, users in pilot counties will not be able to access the CWS CARES RFA application.
CWS-CARES 0.4:
The purpose of this release is to improve the performance of the CARES RFA process with the addition of two (2) RFA Key Performance Indicators (KPI) Measurement dashboards and enhancements to RFA features.
RFA KPI Measurements Dashboard
Access has been provided to two (2) new RFA KPI Measurement dashboards:
  1. Time to approve a standard exemption
  2. Time to approve a simplified exemption
These dashboards can be accessed through the RFA KPI Reports hyperlinks on the home page.  The dashboard includes a link to additional information regarding the methodology to calculate metrics in the dashboards.
Enhancements
The following enhancements (including those recommended by Pilot County user feedback) will be implemented with this release:
  • Application Overview – Progress boxes will display for training, background checks, and assessments.
  • Application Submission – Progress indicator bars have been added and display the completion progress of the hard copy application submission.
  • Application/Relation “Other (specify)” text field – Special Characters and text over 15 characters are now allowed.
  • Help Link – A Service Desk static page for the Help link' CWS-CARES Service Desk' has been added.
  • Save – Users now have the ability to save an application that is In-Progress.
  • Background Check – The ability to delete erroneously created Background Checks has been added.
  • Documents – The ability to delete documents.
  • Relationship to Applicant – The option of “not listed” has been added.
  • County of Jurisdiction – This field will no longer be mandatory.
  • Application/Child Desired section – A response is no longer mandatory for the question “Has child or NMD been identified, Is child or NMD currently in your home.”
  • Application – The following fields are no longer mandatory when creating an application –
    • Address
    • City
    • Zip Code
    • Phone Number
  • Gender – “Not Provided” has been added as an option.
  • References Page – Reference information fields now display in logical order.
  • Licensing History – Licensing history is now required for secondary applicants.
  • Validation error – A validation error will display if an RFA Worker, Clerical Worker or RFA Supervisor enters a date of birth for a minor child that makes that child an adult over the age of 18.
  • Currently Married field – Details will collapse if they do not apply.
  • Application – ‘N/A’ has been added as an option for the question ‘Do you Own, Rent, or Lease? (SE-54).
  • Background Check – Background Check will be “Cleared” before submitting for approval.
  • Application – Default answers pre-selected as "No" will be removed, and the required field in the foster care info tab will remain on application submission.
  • Background Check – CLETS will be added as an option.
  • Education – Highest Level of Education will no longer be a required field.
  • Activity Tab and Background Check – DOB will no longer be a required field.
  • Income – This field will now auto-format as income is entered.
  • Phone number – All phone number fields now allow proper formatting (XXX) XXX-XXXX.
  • Names – This field will now accept special characters to hyphenate names.

CARES-Live Training Environment Scheduled Maintenance – May 9, 2022| 4:00 PM – 4:30 PM

All SPOCs and Training Contacts:
The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Monday, May 9, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 4:30 PM. This scheduled maintenance will be transparent to users and no outage is required. The Training Environment refresh schedule will be modified to suspend the 12:30 PM daily refresh. The daily 3:40 AM Training Environment refresh will continue as normal.

CARES-Live Production Hot Fix – May 5, 2022| 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM

EFFECTIVE May 5, 2022, CARES-Live PRODUCTION HOT FIX IS SCHEDULED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION.
The CARES-Live team has scheduled activity that may impact CANS in the CARES-Live application. The release activity will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 5, 2022, and conclude at 7:00 PM. During this scheduled activity, users may experience issues when accessing CANS in the CARES-Live application.
Production Hot Fix:
CANS
  • Supervisors have reported issues with the CANS dashboard where they were not able to see staff. A fix was deployed on April 21, 2022 that resolved part of the root cause, but a second issue subsequently surfaced. The remaining issue has been resolved and a fix will be deployed with this hot fix.
