___________________________________________________________________________

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance activity to upgrade code on Core Network Switches. The maintenance window for this upgrade activity is scheduled for Sunday, October 6, 2019, beginning at 2:00 AM and concluding at 7:00 AM.

Although connectivity to CWS/CMS and CWS-CARES applications, Business Objects SAFE reports, and all three CWDS websites is not expected to be impacted due to redundancy, there is a small possibility that a service could be impacted if the redundant path occurs on the same switch. If this occurs, the impacted service could expect multiple 15-minute interruptions in connectivity during the maintenance window.

CARES-Live

To all SPOC’s and Technical Contacts:

As shared in the May 23, 2019 communication to counties, the CWDS Project is moving forward with the development of CWS-CARES by utilizing a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution. However, the project will continue to maintain the features currently in production (CANS, Facility Search and Snapshot) until they can be fully replaced or incorporated into the new platform.

To reduce confusion about features in production versus future development, CWDS will begin using the term “CARES-Live” when communicating about the existing features and “CARES” when communicating about the future development of CWS-CARES.”
