CWS-CARES Facility Search Issue

To all SPOC’s and Technical Contacts:

The Child Welfare Digital Services (CWDS) Office has become aware of an issue when CARES users are using Facility Search. Search results are returned, however if the user attempts to click on the home to obtain detailed information they received the following error messageType: unexpected exception. There was an error processing your request. It has been logged with unique incident id. An exception occurred: Socket closed.” The CWDS Office is actively working with the California Department of Social Services (CDSS) to resolve this issue.

There is currently no ETA of resolution of this issue. We will provide updates as soon as they become available.

CWS-CARES Facility Search - Retrieving Issue – UPDATE (Access to the CARES Administrator Managed User Application Re-Enabled)

To All SPOCS and Technical Contacts:

Issue 2 Update (May 6, 2019): Effective today, May 6, 2019, by 5:00 p.m., the CWDS Office will re-enable access to the Managed Users application for CWS-CARES Administrators. CARES administrators no longer need to contact the CARES Service Desk to provide CANS access to CARES users. CARES Admins can resume the ability to create users, provide or remove CANS permissions, unlock users, etc.

The Facility Search & Profile issue continues to be worked on by the CWDS development team. Facility Search Users access continues to be disabled. Further updates to follow as they become available.

Issue 2- Facility Search & Profile is experiencing issues with respect to retrieving all available complaints that may exist for Homes or Facilities. CWDS is working with CDSS to address the issue and are advising users who are utilizing complaint results to cease until the issue has been addressed.

CWS-CARES Facility Search - Retrieving issue – UPDATE

To all SPOCS and Technical Contacts:

  1. 2 Update: Effective May 2nd, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. today the CWDS Office has elected to perform the following actions in order to reduce the risk of county staff that use Facilities Search and are not getting complete complaint information.
  1. Facility Search Users access will be disabled.
  2. CARES Administrator access to the Managed Users application will be disabled. CARES Administrators should contact the CARES Service Desk if they need to add any new users to CANS.

CARES users will still be able to access CANS.

This issue is still outstanding and remains being worked on by the CWDS development team. Further updates will be provided as progress is made to address the scenario.

CWS-CARES Scheduled Maintenance May 1, 2019| 05:00 PM – 06:00 PM

To all SPOCS and Technical Contacts:

The CWS-CARES team has scheduled maintenance to the CWS-CARES application. The maintenance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 1, 2019 from 05:00PM to 06:00PM. During this scheduled maintenance the CWS-CARES team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CWS-CARES users. There will be no access to the CWS-CARES application during the maintenance window.

The CWS-CARES team has scheduled maintenance to the CWS-CARES application. The maintenance is scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2019 from 05:00PM to 07:00PM. During this scheduled maintenance the CWS-CARES team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CWS-CARES users. There will be no access to the CWS-CARES application during the maintenance window.

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – CGEN Vendor AT&T Scheduled Maintenance, Tuesday, April 23, 2019| 12:00 AM to 5:00 AM

To the CWS/CMS SPOC and Technical Contact in Solano County:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, beginning at 12:00 AM and concluding at 5:00 AM. Users at the listed site may experience up to a thirty-minute interruption in connectivity to CWS/CMS and CWS-CARES within the scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) window.

Remote access (e.g., Server Based Computing [SBC]) to the CWS/CMS application will not be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.
