CARES-Live Scheduled Maintenance on January 30, 2022| 4:00 AM – 8:00 AM – CORRECTION

CORRECTION:  The communication has been revised to reference the correct time in the “Action Required”.

CDSS will be performing maintenance activities on Sunday, January 30, 2022, that will impact the Facility Search functionality in the CARES-Live application. The work is expected to begin at 4:00 AM and conclude at 8:00 AM. During this time, users may encounter an error when performing searches in Facility Search as the CALS API may not be able to connect to any of the back-end servers and databases.
 
Action Required
If users experience any issues with Facility Search after 8:00 AM, please follow your county process for reporting issues. CARES-Live County Administrators may contact the CARES Service Desk through the CWDS ServiceNow Customer Support Management (CSM) Portal at https://cwds.service-now.com/csm. Alternate methods are phoning 1-855-292-3444 or via email at Servicedesk@cwds.ca.gov during normal business hours. CARES-Live Training Environment Scheduled Maintenance - January 29, 2022| 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM

All SPOCs and Training Contacts:
CDT has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Saturday, January 29, 2022. The work is expected to begin at 1:00 PM and conclude at 5:00 PM. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live Training Environment during the scheduled outage.
 
Action Required
If users experience any issues with the CARES-Live Training Environment after 5:00 PM, please follow your county process for reporting issues. CARES-Live County Administrators may contact the CARES Service Desk through the CWDS ServiceNow Customer Support Management (CSM) Portal at https://cwds.service-now.com/csm. CARES-Live Scheduled Outage for Saturday, January 22, 2022 | 5:00 AM – 1:00 PM

All SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
In support of the CWS/CMS Release 8.17, the CARES-Live team has scheduled an outage that will interrupt connectivity to the CARES-Live application. The outage is scheduled for Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM.  During the scheduled outage, users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application.
 
Action Required
If users experience any issues with CARES-Live outside of this scheduled outage, please follow your county process for reporting issues. The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Friday, December 10, 2021, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This scheduled maintenance will be transparent to users. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live Training Environment during the scheduled outage.

ALL SPOCS and Technical Contacts:
The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live application. The maintenance is scheduled for Wednesday, December 8, 2021, beginning at 6:00 PM and concluding at 7:00 PM. During this scheduled maintenance, the CARES-Live team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CARES-Live users. There is no anticipated impact to CARES-Live users and the CARES-Live application will remain available during the maintenance window.
 
Action Required

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – CalCloud Windows Tenant Patching- December 3-4, 2021| 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM

ALL SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled security patching of the CalCloud Windows servers.  The patching window begins on Friday, December 3, 2021, at 7:00 PM and concludes on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 06:00 AM.  The patching activity will cause intermittent interruptions in connectivity to the CWDS website (https://cwds.ca.gov), the CWS/CMS website (https://www.hwcws.cahwnet.gov/) and the CWS/CMS Portals website (https://cwscms.osi.ca.gov/) during the patching window.

During this scheduled maintenance the CARES-Live team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CARES-Live users. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application during the scheduled outage.

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) Bypass Module Replacement at Vacaville Data Center- November 14, 2021| 4:00 AM – 7:00 AM

ALL SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) will be replacing bypass modules in security appliances at the Vacaville Data Center on Sunday, November 14, 2021, beginning at 4:00 AM and concluding at 7:00 AM. This is the regular network preventative maintenance window, scheduled every Sunday morning by the CDT. This activity will impact anyone accessing the Facility Search feature in CARES-Live during the maintenance window. Multiple short outages, approximately five minutes each, will occur during the maintenance window.
