California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – “Informational Only” Mainframe Processor Upgrade on October 18, 2020| 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

To all CWS and Probation SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled a mainframe processor upgrade for Sunday, October 18, 2020, beginning at 08:00 AM and concluding at 01:00 PM.  This upgrade has the potential to impact the CWS/CMS and CARES-Live applications; however, no outage or impact is expected during the upgrade window.

FYI only.  No action for CWS/CMS or CARES-Live is expected.

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance for Sunday, October 18, 2020, beginning at 02:00 AM and concluding at 05:00 AM.  This maintenance has the potential to impact the CWS/CMS and CARES-Live applications; however, because the maintenance will occur using redundant paths, no outage or impact is expected during the maintenance window.

FYI only.  No action for CWS/CMS is expected.

CARES-Live Scheduled Maintenance on October 4, 2020| 5:00 AM – 7:00 AM

To all SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
CDSS will be performing maintenance activities on Sunday, October 4, 2020 that will impact the Facility Search functionality in the CARES-Live application. The work is expected to begin at 5:00 AM and conclude at 7:00 AM. During this time, users may encounter an error as the CAL API may not be able to connect to any of the back-end servers and databases.
 
Action Required

CARES-Live Training Environment Scheduled Maintenance October 2, 2020| 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM

The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live Training Environment during the scheduled outage.

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – CalCloud Windows Tenant Patching September 25-26, 2020| 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM

To all County CWS and Probation SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled security patching of the CalCloud Windows servers.  The patching window begins on Friday, September 25, 2020, at 7:00 PM and concludes on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 6:00 AM.  The patching activity will cause intermittent interruptions in connectivity to the CWDS website (https://cwds.ca.gov), the CWS/CMS website (https://www.hwcws.cahwnet.gov/) and the CWS/CMS Portals website (https://cwscms.osi.ca.gov/) during the patching window.

CARES-Live Scheduled Maintenance September 24, 2020| 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

To all SPOC’s and Technical Contacts:
The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live application. The maintenance is scheduled for Thursday, September 24, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. During this scheduled maintenance the CARES-Live team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CARES-Live users. During the scheduled outage users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application.

RESOLVED: CWDS.CA.GOV Site Receiving Error Message 503

CWS and Probation SPOCs, Technical Contacts:

UPDATE:  The issue that intermittently caused the ‘503 Service Temporarily Unavailable’ error message when updating contact information on the CWDS.CA.GOV website has been resolved.  Please contact the IBM Help Desk if you continue to receive this error message.

An error message ‘503 Service Temporarily Unavailable’ has been received intermittently when updating contact information on the CWDS.CA.GOV site. This issue has been reported and is being worked on.  Updates will be provided when a resolution has been reached.

Since this issue is intermittent, we request that you please try again or wait until the issue is resolved.

 

CARES-Live Scheduled Maintenance on September 13, 2020| 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM

CDSS will be performing maintenance activities on Sunday, September 13, 2020. The work is expected to begin at 6:00am and conclude at 12:00pm. During the scheduled outage, users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application.

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – WAN Router Operating System Update September 20, 2020| 2:00 AM – 5:00 AM

To all County CWS SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Sunday, September 20, 2020, beginning at 02:00 AM and concluding at 05:00 AM.  Because the maintenance is being performed on a redundant path, CWS/CMS and CWS-CARES users are not expected to be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.  This bulletin is being shared as an ‘FYI only’ in the unlikely case an issue does arise.
Remote access (e.g., Server Based Computing [SBC]) to the CWS/CMS application will not be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.
