Q: Why are there so many different names for what seems like the same function? (e.g. Intake/Hotline/Screening)
A: Historically, counties have used different names for the same core function (receiving, assessing, and routing referrals) — some emphasize “hotline,” others “intake” or “screening.” The FAQ page standardizes on the term “Intake.”
Q: Is the 40 hours of Enablement training required for all roles, or is that a maximum for some roles?
A: The requirement isn't a flat 40-hour requirement for everyone. Learning paths disseminated by training coordinators designate, by role, which enablement programs and additional training are needed ahead of Instructor-Led Training (ILT).
Q: Were the On-Demand trainings put into a logical order, or was feedback received and addressed regarding their order?
A: Both — the trainings were organized into a logical order and shared recently as part of the Instructor-Led Training (ILT) guides, organized by user role.
Q: Will enablement trainings be available in the Prod Sim CARES 100 environment specifically?
A: Yes, Enablements trainings willl be in available in the CARES 100 environment, also known as Production Simulation.
Q: Will there be exceptions to Train-the-Trainer (TTT) requirements for staff unable to complete the 40 hours of On-Demand training due to scheduling delays?
A: Participants are strongly encouraged to complete the prerequisite enablement courses prior to the TTT and/or Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions. However, they will not be precluded from participating if they have not completed them.
Q: During the cutover , or "dark", period, will counties still have access to SafeMeasures?
A: Yes, SafeMeasures will remain available, though it only updates every 24 hours, so information will be as current as the last update.
Q: Is the business continuity/disaster planning ask focused only on the cutover weekend, or on worst-case, longer-term scenarios as well?
A: While the Business Continuity plan is focused primarily on the cutover weekend prior to Go-Live, this can be leveraged for the future in case CWS-CARES and/or your county happens to have an outage.
Q: Is October 26th a hard stop by the state on CWS/CMS?
A: The Go-Live for CWS-CARES continues to be October 26, 2026 and we are moving forward towards that date. Upon cutover from CWS/CMS to CWS-CARES, CWS/CMS will be moved to read only.
Q: Can a County Admin change another County Admin's permissions within the same county while not changing not own?
A: This is being considered as a new feature — a County Admin would be able to change another County Admin within the county, but not their own permissions.
Q: What time was the training environment made available? I have one trainer confirm that the CARES 104 environment, while available, had no content.
A: The CARES 104 environment was made available the morning of 6/15. The CWS-CARES 104 training environment does not have data within it, which is why your trainer didn't see any content when accessing it.
