Q: Is it necessary for Organizations to have someone participate in train‑the‑trainer if they are read only?
A: Train-the-Trainer (TTT) is optional.
Q: Have organization holiday schedules been accounted for in the training schedule?
A: Yes. CWS-CARES Training Coordinators blocked out holidays for each organization. The Project would also like each organization to confirm its holidays and any other organization-specific events that may affect training availability.
Q: How does the drafted training schedule account for ensuring the staff isn't depleted?
A: Training is structured so that staff are not depleted: no more than 25 staff are in a classroom, and only those enrolled in a given course attend. Courses are a half-day or less, balancing staff working and staff in training. The unique needs of each county will be discussed during the Organization CWS-CARES Training Logistics Planning Meetings.
Q: How many hours of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) do staff need?
A: The number of hours needed are based on the number of classes the county identified for their staff. Training commitment can be as little as two (2) hours and as long as 42 hours.
Q: How many hours or days will staff need to be onsite for Instructor-Led Training (ILT)?
A: The number of onsite hours depends on the individual's training needs, which are based on the courses identified for their role. Training commitment can range from as little as two hours to as many as 42 hours.
Q: How many Instructor-Led Training (ILT) classes can be run in one week?
A: The number of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) classes that can run in one week depends on the number of classrooms in use and the courses needed for the organization. Typically, two courses are run per day per classroom.
Q: How will dedicated counties and their equipment be accounted for in training, given the need to connect to both CWS-CARES and CWS/CMS?
A: The unique needs of each county will be discussed during the Organization CWS-CARES Training Logistics Planning Meetings, and the CWS-CARES Technical Team will provide support as needed.
Q: How will new hires receive training for the new system? What happens if induction training for new hires conflicts with CWS-CARES training?
A: If new hires begin before Go-Live, they will be worked into the current training schedule. If new hires are unable to attend Instructor-Led Training (ILT) courses when scheduled, CWS-CARES Training Coordinators will work with organizations to determine next steps.
Q: How will counties handle limited or no training spaces in certain counties?
A: We will discuss the unique needs of each county during the Organization CWS-CARES Training Logistics Planning Meetings.
Q: If counties choose not to select TTTs, will 2 trainers still be deployed per county?
A: CWS-CARES Trainers will deliver Instructor-Led Training (ILT) to all organizations based on the Organization Training Plan. If an organization prefers that CWS-CARES Trainers lead its ILT, the appropriate number of trainers will support the organization.
