Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will training sessions be recorded and made available?
A: Yes. The Project plans to record a virtual training for each course that can be made available to all counties.
Q: Will Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Instructor-Led Training (ILT) be county specific, virtual, or multi county?
A: Delivery of Train-the-Trainer (TTT) depends on how many trainers each organization requests. Once that information is available, the Project will determine the best setting — county-specific, virtual, or multi-county — for each region or organization.
Q: Were updated staff lists submitted after the project pause incorporated into the training calculations?
A: Yes. Updated versions of the Training Curriculum Assignment Spreadsheets submitted after the pause were incorporated into the statewide training curriculum assignments.
Q: Does the draft county training schedule represent Train-the-Trainer (TTT) dates?
A: No. The displayed schedule reflects end-user ILT training sessions, not train-the-trainer dates.
Q: Does the project have enough trainers to support all counties and multiple rooms simultaneously?
A: The current staffing plan reflects a "worst-case scenario" assuming every county requires separate in-person training. Adjustments, consolidations, virtual sessions, and partnerships between counties may reduce the number of trainers required.
Q: How long are Instructor-Led Training (ILT) sessions and what is the expectation for end users?
A: Most ILT sessions are no longer than 3.5 hours, including a break. Some classes are shorter. Counties with one classroom would generally run a morning and afternoon session.
Q: Will staff only need to attend one Instructor-Led Training (ILT) session or multiple sessions?
A: The number of ILT sessions required depends on the Training Curriculum Assignments Spreadsheet completed by each county. Some staff may only need one class, while others may need multiple courses depending on the needs of their role.
Q: Is there help desk or service desk specific training?
A: Yes. Service desk/help desk personnel have role-specific On-Demand courses. The recommended audience in the Instructional Design Maps indicates the ILT courses the CWS-CARES Team feels would support this group of people the best. However, you may choose to assign ILT courses that do not indicate service/help desk personnel as the target audience if you feel the content covered aligns with the tasks performed by the individual.
Q: Can counties receive copies of their training curriculum assignment spreadsheets?
A: Yes. Counties can email requests for copies of their Training Curriculum Assignment Spreadsheets to the CWS-CARES Training Coordinators.
Q: Will there be desk aids, job aids, or step-by-step guides available for staff?
A: Yes. Quick Guides — step-by-step instructions with screenshots — will be made available.
