Q: Can Instructor-Led Training (ILT) class size of 25 include mixed in person and virtual participants?
A: The unique needs of each county will be discussed during the Organization CWS-CARES Training Logistics Planning Meetings, where the Project will work with organizations to determine the best method of instruction, including whether a class of up to 25 can include mixed in-person and virtual participants.
Q: Can a county secure use of a specific state training facility (such as the OTSI Gateway Oaks facility) due to its large capacity?
A: The unique needs of each county will be discussed during the Organization CWS-CARES Training Logistics Planning Meetings, where the Project will work with organizations to determine the best method and locations for training. The CWS-CARES Team can work with the State to see if training spaces are available.
Q: Can SuperUsers attend Train-the-Trainer (TTT) only for specific job functions rather than the full 40 hours?
A: Super Users will complete their training in conjunction with end users. Super Users who participate in TTT trainings are required to take the full TTT course.
Q: Can training be spread across more weeks instead of compressed into a short window?
A: The Project will work through several iterations of the training schedule and adjust where possible to better meet the needs of organizations.
Q: Can counties see a mock schedule for a week of classes? An example of what a week of training would look like for an end user on a calendar?
A: Schedules will vary based on the specific needs of each county. As a general rule, two sessions are offered per classroom per day. The courses provided on a given day may cover the same topic or different topics, with the goal of providing no more than a half-day of training per participant.
Q: Can counties separate training into two cohorts if all staff cannot attend training at the same time?
A: Staff participating in training will be no more than 25 in a classroom and only those who are enrolled in the given course. The duration of the course is a half-day or less allowing for a balance in staff working and those in training.
Q: How is the number of training weeks shown on the schedules calculated?
A: The CWS-CARES Training Team used the data in the Training Curriculum Assignment Spreadsheets to calculate the number of courses, weeks, and classrooms needed per organization. Counties with similar employee counts may still require different training durations depending on the number and type of courses needed.
Q: Does production simulation training count as Instructor-Led Training (ILT)?
A: No. Production Simulation training does not count as Instructor-Led Training (ILT).
Q: Is it necessary for Organizations to have someone participate in train‑the‑trainer if they are read only?
A: Train-the-Trainer (TTT) is optional.
Q: Have organization holiday schedules been accounted for in the training schedule?
A: Yes. CWS-CARES Training Coordinators blocked out holidays for each organization. The Project would also like each organization to confirm its holidays and any other organization-specific events that may affect training availability.
