Q: Are the train-the-trainer on-demand modules really 40 hours long?
A: Yes, TTT need to complete every available on-demand course. TTT can complete the work at their own pace before the start of their TTT course.
Q: How many hours of Instructor-Led Training (ILT) do staff need?
A: The number of hours needed are based on the number of classes the county identified for their staff. Training commitment can be as little as two (2) hours and as long as 42 hours.
Q: How does the drafted training schedule account for ensuring the staff isn't depleted?
A: Training is structured so that staff are not depleted: no more than 25 staff are in a classroom, and only those enrolled in a given course attend. Courses are a half-day or less, balancing staff working and staff in training. The unique needs of each county will be discussed during the Organization CWS-CARES Training Logistics Planning Meetings.
Q: Will CARES V1 include a training application similar to the CWS/CMS Scenario Manager?
A: There are no plans for CARES V1 to develop a training app like Scenario Manager. The scenarios for CWS-CARES training are in CWS-CARES along with the material and there will be walk through prompts to guide the learner. The material for Adoptions will be based on the functionality developed by the development team and released in to the CARES V1 Training Environment. This material once developed will be reviewed by the State Review team and the Training Advisory Workgroup.
Q: Have organization holiday schedules been accounted for in the training schedule?
A: Yes. CWS-CARES Training Coordinators blocked out holidays for each organization. The Project would also like each organization to confirm its holidays and any other organization-specific events that may affect training availability.
Q: Will Train-the-Trainer (TTT) Instructor-Led Training (ILT) be county specific, virtual, or multi county?
A: Delivery of Train-the-Trainer (TTT) depends on how many trainers each organization requests. Once that information is available, the Project will determine the best setting — county-specific, virtual, or multi-county — for each region or organization.
Q: Is it necessary for Organizations to have someone participate in train‑the‑trainer if they are read only?
A: Train-the-Trainer (TTT) is optional.
Q: How can someone become a member of the Training Advisory Workgroup (TAW)?
A: To join the TAW, the County SPOC should request during their scheduled RUGs meeting for approval. Once approved, they will be added to the distro list for meeting series, and added to the participants list.
Q: Does the project have enough trainers to support all counties and multiple rooms simultaneously?
A: The current staffing plan reflects a "worst-case scenario" assuming every county requires separate in-person training. Adjustments, consolidations, virtual sessions, and partnerships between counties may reduce the number of trainers required.
Q: How long does the Instructor-Led Training (ILT) portion of train-the-trainer last?
A: The first week focuses on learning curriculum delivery. The second week focuses on practice and presenting the material. The full process should not exceed two weeks.
