CWDS Website Glossary Update

All SPOCs:
The CWDS Office is pleased to announce a Glossary update to the CWDS website:
  1. The CWDS Glossary is located under ‘Stakeholder Resources’ dropdown to ‘CARES User Resources’.
  1. Under the ‘General’ column you will find the CWDS Glossary link.
  1. On the CWDS Glossary you will now be able to search for Terms or Acronyms by typing into the search box and clicking on the search icon, or selecting by alpha order and scrolling.


The intent of these changes is the continued improvement and ease of use for the CWDS website. These changes will be implemented on Friday, December 15, 2023.

CWS/CMS: Business Objects Server Rebooted

All SPOCs, Technical Contacts, and CAD Contacts:

October 3, 2023 UPDATE: The Business Objects (BO) report scheduler behaved normally overnight; the scheduled BO report jobs ran as expected. The CWDS Office and IBM continue to monitor the reports and investigate the root cause of the scheduler interruption.  Additional updates will be provided as they are received.

Please review your scheduled BO reports and rerun the report jobs, as necessary.

October 2, 2023 UPDATE: The CWDS Office and IBM are aware that users are still experiencing issues with running Business Objects (BO) job reports. We are working to resolve these issues. Periodic reboots of the BO server and other service interruptions may occur while we are working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.

We will provide additional updates as new information is received. There is currently no ETA of when this issue will be resolved.

An issue was discovered this past weekend with Business Objects (BO) reports scheduling services. IBM attempted to restart services for individual reports but decided that the entire BO server would need to be rebooted.

The BO server was rebooted at 9:30 AM this morning. Please check all of your scheduled BO report jobs and rerun them, as necessary.

Review scheduled BO reports and rerun the report jobs, as necessary.

CARES-RFA Issue – Missing Required ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ Data

All Pilot County RFA SPOCs:         
An issue has been discovered during end user testing of the CWS-CARES application.

Problem Description:
The ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ field became a required field in CWS-CARES on June 26, 2023. Prior to June 26, the field could be left blank without any issue. However, when trying to reassign a record with a blank, but required, ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ field value, users will now receive the following error message:

The development team is working on developing fixes of this known issue and a follow up communication will be sent with a workaround once it is identified.

Please follow your county process for reporting this issue. CWS-CARES County Administrators may contact the CARES Service Desk through the CWDS ServiceNow Customer Support Management (CSM) Portal. Alternate methods are phoning 1-855-292-3444 or via email during normal business hours. You may also email after hours, and a Service Desk representative will contact you the next business day.
