CWS/CMS: CDT Service Desk Bulletin – Standard Monthly OS Security Patches to SBCS Infrastructure Servers

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Saturday, May 30, 2026, beginning at 6:00 AM and concluding at 10:00 AM. During the maintenance window, CDT will apply Standard Monthly OS Security Patches to SBCS Infrastructure Servers. There is no anticipated outage for this maintenance; however, CDT is asking that everyone log off from the Citrix SBC system, if not actively using it during the maintenance window.

Standard Monthly Operating System (OS) Security Patches to Server Based Computing Services (SBCS) Infrastructure Servers

Summary: CDT will apply Standard Monthly OS Security Patches to SBCS Infrastructure Servers. This process will take place during the Scheduled Preventative Maintenance Window.

Action Requested: Please close out all unused applications and log off from the Citrix system if you are not active.

CWS-CARES Scheduled Maintenance - May 8, 2026 | 6AM - 8AM

All Pilot County RFA Implementation Coordinators and SPOCs:

The CWS-CARES team has scheduled maintenance activity for the CWS-CARES production environment for Friday, May 8, 2026, beginning at 6:00 AM and concluding at 8:00 AM. During the maintenance window, the CWS-CARES Resource Family Approval (RFA) Application Submission, Review, and Approval Process will be accessible for pilot counties Fresno, Placer, and Santa Clara. However, document related functionality will not be accessible.

Action Required

No action required from end-users during this maintenance window.

CARES-Live Scheduled Maintenance

All SPOCs and Technical Contacts:

The CARES-Live team has scheduled monthly Infrastructure maintenance for Thursday, April 23, 2026, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. During this scheduled maintenance, the CARES-Live team will deploy infrastructure updates, remove CANS duplicate records and security patches that are not visible to users of CARES-Live.

NOTE: Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application during the scheduled outage.

CWS/CMS: CDT Service Desk Bulletin – Windows Monthly Patching - REMINDER

ALL SPOCs, Technical Contacts and CAD Contacts:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled monthly Microsoft security patching. The patching begins on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 8:00 PM and concludes on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 1:00 AM. The activity will cause interruptions to the Business Objects (BO) servers within the patching window, potentially causing some BO reports to fail to send, or automated scripts may fail to retrieve.

Action Required

Review scheduled BO reports and reschedule report jobs to avoid the scheduled maintenance window. Rerun the missed report jobs, if necessary.

Contact the IBM Help Desk (800-428-8268) to report any issues with your Business Objects content.

CDT Service Desk Bulletin - SAFE Cloud Service Scheduled Maintenance

ALL SPOCs, Technical Contacts and CAD Contacts:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance of the SAFE Cloud service. The maintenance begins on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 8:00 PM and concludes on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2:00 AM. The activity will cause interruptions in the SAFE Cloud service. Some Business Objects (BO) reports will fail to send, or automated scripts may fail to retrieve from SAFE during this scheduled maintenance.

Action Required

All users should logoff of the SAFE Cloud service prior to the start of the stated maintenance timeframe. Please check on your scheduled BO SAFE reports and automated FTP scripts. If needed, re-run the reports and scripts.

Contact the IBM Help Desk (800-428-8268) to report any issues with your Business Objects content in SAFE.

CWS/CMS: Scheduled CAD / Business Objects Servers Software Upgrade

All SPOCs, Technical Contacts, and CAD Contacts:

The CWDS Infrastructure team and the California Department of Technology (CDT) have scheduled a software upgrade on the CAD/Business Objects (BO) servers. The upgrade window is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2026, beginning at 6:00 PM and concluding at 9:00 PM.

CAD Business Objects (BO) / Business Intelligence (BI) will not be accessible during the scheduled upgrade window. Any BO reports scheduled to run during this timeframe will be affected.

Action Required

Review scheduled BO reports and reschedule report jobs to avoid the scheduled maintenance window. Rerun the missed report jobs, if necessary.

CDT Service Desk Bulletin - CGEN Vendor Verizon Scheduled Maintenance

All SPOCs and Technical Contacts in Mariposa County:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, beginning at 11:00 PM and concluding on Wednesday, April 01, 2026 at 5:00 AM. Users at the listed site will experience interruptions in connectivity to CWS/CMS and CARES-Live within the scheduled Verizon maintenance window.

Remote access (e.g., Server Based Computing [SBC]) to the CWS/CMS application will not be impacted by this scheduled maintenance.

During this scheduled maintenance the CARES-Live team will focus on application maintenance changes that are not visible to CARES-Live users.

CWS/CMS: County Access Data (CAD) Business Objects - Issue

All SPOCs, Technical Contacts, and CAD Contacts:

A service on the CWS/CMS CAD BusinessObjects (BO) server did not start correctly last night, March 24, 2026. The service was restarted this morning; however, the maximum number of connections to the database exceeded the allowed limit. This has caused the failure of some reports to complete processing this morning and will need to be run again.

Action Required

Check your scheduled Business Objects reports this morning and verify your results. If needed, manually invoke the scheduled BO reports from last night.
