IOS Upgrades – Services Impacted (Del Norte County) August 16, 2023 | 7 PM - 11 PM

All SPOCs and Technical Contacts in Del Norte County:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance windows to perform a necessary IOS upgrade on network equipment in impacted counties. This upgrade is needed to correct a discovered software vulnerability.
CDT has scheduled the maintenance windows for Del Norte County for Wednesday, August 16, 2023, beginning at 7:00 PM and concluding at 11:00 PM. During the maintenance window the following services will be impacted while CDT performs the upgrade:

The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance windows to perform a necessary IOS upgrade on network equipment in impacted counties. This upgrade is needed to correct a discovered software vulnerability.
CDT has scheduled the maintenance windows for Alpine County and Colusa County for Tuesday, August 15, 2023, beginning at 7:00 PM and concluding at 11:00 PM. During the maintenance window the following services will be impacted while CDT performs the upgrade:

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – SBCS Infrastructure Servers Security Patching - August 26, 2023| 6:00 AM - 10:00 AM

All SPOCs, Technical Contacts, and SBC Administrators:
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled maintenance on Saturday, August 26, 2023, beginning at 6:00 AM and concluding at 10:00 AM.  During the maintenance window, CDT will apply Standard Monthly OS Security Patches to SBCS Infrastructure Servers. There is no anticipated outage for this maintenance; however, CDT is asking that everyone log off from the Citrix SBC system, if not actively using it during the maintenance window.

Interim Release 9.1.1 Informational Bulletin

The optional release VB6 version of Interim Release 9.1.1 will be implemented on Wednesday, August 16, 2023.

Coexistent County CWSCMS.MSI file availability:

The CWSCMS.MSI file will be available by Monday, August 14, 2023, for technical staff to begin testing the installation of the release.  The code will be located on the CWSDFSr share in the following location:
  •  \CODEDIST\Staging\R911
Perform any necessary testing, but do not install countywide before August 16, 2023. The new release will not work with the database until then.

Dedicated County CWSCMS.MSI file delivery:

By Monday, August 14, 2023, dedicated county users should start seeing the CWSCMS.MSI file copied to their workstations during Windows logon.  Technical staff can verify that they have received the file by checking for its presence in the C:\CACW\R911. folder.  This file must exist on the workstation for the installation of Release R9.1.1 to take place on or after August 16, 2023.

CARES-Live Training Environment Scheduled Maintenance – August 4, 2023| 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

All SPOCs, Technical Contacts, and Training Contacts:
The CARES-Live team has scheduled maintenance to the CARES-Live Training Environment on Friday, August 4, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. This scheduled maintenance is to upgrade the Training Environment to the CARES-Live 2.8.25 version. Users will not be able to access the CARES-Live Training Environment during the scheduled outage.

CARES-RFA Issue – Missing Required ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ Data – UPDATE

All Pilot County RFA SPOCs:

July 26, 2023, Update: The deployment date for CARES 0.9.3 has been identified as Monday, July 31, 2023. The outage window for this hot fix will begin at 5:00 PM and is expected to be completed at 10:00 PM. During this scheduled outage, users in CWS-CARES pilot counties will not be able to access the CARES RFA application.

July 26, 2023, Update:  While researching this issue, the CARES Team determined that the ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ field should not have been made a required field with the June 26, 2023, update. A hot fix, CARES 0.9.3, will be deployed to the pilot counties (Contra Costa, Fresno, Placer, and Santa Clara) to no longer make this a required field. Additionally, the ‘Indian Child Count’ field will be hidden from the CWS-CARES user.
The deployment date of CARES 0.9.3 is still being determined and will be shared in a future communication once it has been finalized.

An issue has been discovered during end user testing of the CWS-CARES application.
Problem Description:
The ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ field became a required field in CWS-CARES on June 26, 2023. Prior to June 26, the field could be left blank without any issue. However, when trying to reassign a record with a blank, but required, ‘Tribal Representative Notified Date’ field value, users will now receive the following error message:

The development team is working on developing fixes of this known issue and a follow up communication will be sent with a workaround once it is identified.

California Department of Technology Service Desk Bulletin – CalCloud Windows Tenant Patching – July 28-29, 2023| 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM

SPOCs, Technical Contacts, and Training Contacts::
The California Department of Technology (CDT) has scheduled security patching of the CalCloud Windows servers. The patching window begins on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 7:00 PM and concludes on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 06:00 AM. The patching activity will cause intermittent interruptions in connectivity to the CWDS website and the CWS/CMS Portals website during the patching window.

CARES-Live 2.8.25 Production Release – July 27, 2023| 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

SPOCs and Technical Contacts:
EFFECTIVE JULY 27, 2023, CARES-Live 2.8.25 RELEASE IS SCHEDULED TO MOVE INTO PRODUCTION
The CARES-Live team has scheduled release activity that will interrupt connectivity to the CARES-Live application. The release activity will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023, and conclude at 9:00 PM. During this release, the CARES-Live team will focus on application changes, and users will not be able to access the CARES-Live application during this scheduled outage.
CARES-Live 2.8.25:
  • Snapshot Application is modified to prevent the user from entering invalid characters in Name field along with other infrastructure changes and security patches.

CARES- RFA Issue (INC0021769 and INC0021764) – UPDATE

All Pilot County RFA SPOCs:         
July 14, 2023 Update:  The CARES Team has developed a fix to resolve the Change Owner issue. The fix, CARES 0.9.2, will be deployed to the pilot counties (Contra Costa, Fresno, Placer, and Santa Clara) on Monday, July 17, 2023. The release activity is planned to begin at 5:00 PM and conclude at 10:00 PM. During this scheduled outage, users in pilot counties will not be able to access the CARES RFA application.

CWDS has received reports that RFA staff are unable to use the Change Owner feature in the CARES-RFA Process Application. The following error displays when the attempt is made to use this feature –

We are currently troubleshooting this issue identified in incident number(s) INC0021769 and INC0021764. There is currently no ETA for resolution. We will provide updates as we receive them.
